Our Key partners

We work in partnership with many statutory and voluntary organisations. Our key partners are:

Freedom4Girls

Freedom4Girls are a UK registered charity focused on tackling period poverty in local communities. Period poverty is caused by three main factors: lack of access to products, lack of access to education, and shame and stigma. Therefore, we work to eradicate these factors and improve the lives of those who menstruate within our communities.

We do this by providing free disposable and reusable period products, thus promoting product choice and supporting environmentally and financially sustainable options.

For example: last year we delivered over 35,000 products to those in need with 80% of our deliveries being in the top 10% most disadvantaged areas of the UK.

Educational Workshops

We also provide educational workshops for all ages on topics such as:

  • Cycle tracking
  • Menarche (your first period)
  • Periods and mental health
  • Menopause
  • Keeping active on your period

AboutFace

AboutFace Training stands today on the powerful legacy of its founder, Cliff Faulder. Though he is no longer with us, his vision permeates the very heart of the organisation he established in 2000. That year, a crucible of change, introduced us to lockdowns, transformed our workspaces with online meetings, and, unforgettably, brought the cold-blooded murder of George Floyd into sharp relief. It was a catalyst — a call to action to confront race and racism head-on, to be truly fearless.

Leading AboutFace now is Maxine Faulder, the wife of the late CEO. As a registered Social Worker, her decades of supporting the marginalised with profound empathy and compassion continue to guide the organisation. Maxine's unwavering commitment to battling injustice and finding equitable solutions ensures the voices of those unfairly treated are heard and amplified.

In the wake of these events, many organisations swiftly moved to employ Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion leads, acknowledging that race and racism, much like the people of color they employed, had been overlooked. However, AboutFace moves beyond a mere reactive “ticking of the EDI box.” We delve into the very core of racism, exploring its psychology and the insidious process of “othering” difference. Our education reaches all levels, from leadership groups to frontline workers, children, young people, and families in every sector with a workforce. Our ambition is for universal success, not just for the privileged, and to celebrate every unique difference on that journey.

AboutFace is proud to join forces with DORCAS, a partner who echoes our fundamental values of challenging discrimination and injustice, and tirelessly working to enrich the lives of those not afforded societal privilege.

Macmillian Cancer Support

Macmillan and Black Country Integrated Care Board are working alongside community groups to raise awareness around cancer.

Cultural barriers and a lack of awareness about what cancer is in communities can often lead to late diagnosis and poorer survival rates. We will look to address these issues through proactive community engagement by holding regular sessions and awareness talks.

Key Areas We Will Focus On:

  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Cancer Prevention and Early Diagnosis
  • Cancer Screening Programmes
  • Signs and Symptoms
  • Living Well and Beyond Cancer

We will be visiting communities soon with a range of awareness sessions and practical workshops. Your feedback is key! We want to build these sessions around what you want and allow you to have a voice.

We are happy to come to already established groups — just let us know the dates and times.

Community Connectors Project

We are excited to announce a new two and a half year project, funded by Macmillan, alongside four local organisations across the Black Country and Sandwell.

The Black Country Integrated Care Board, Macmillan Cancer Support and the four community organisations are working together on the project, which aims to address health inequalities.

To Achieve This, the Partners Will:

  • Identify and address barriers to accessing cancer information and support, cancer screening, and health cancer services.
  • Identify and address myths, perceptions and behaviours relating to cancer.
  • Increase knowledge about cancer, including signs and symptoms, screening programmes, how to access services and cancer treatments.
  • Increase trust in services.
